Cilantro Chutney

This recipe is part of the recipe for Meat-Filled Samosas


1/2 cup green onions, cut into 1/2-inch lengths
1 to 2 hot green chili peppers,* seeded and coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, peeled
1 cup packed cilantro leaves
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

*Chili peppers can sting and irritate the skin, so wear rubber gloves when handling peppers and do not touch your eyes.


  1. Drop green onions, chilies, ginger and garlic through feed tube of food processor with motor running. Stop machine and add cilantro, oil, lime juice, salt, sugar and cumin; process until cilantro is finely chopped.
