Country Breakfast Sausage


Makes 6 servings


1 pound ground pork
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (optional)


  1. Combine pork, salt, cumin, thyme, sage, black pepper and ground red pepper, if desired, in medium bowl; mix well. Cover; refrigerate overnight.
  2. Shape into 6 patties. Cook in lightly greased skillet over medium heat about 15 minutes or until browned on both sides and centers are no longer pink, turning occasionally.
