Cranberry Pear Sauce the Editors of Publications International, Ltd.
Makes 8 to 10 servings
|1||package (12 ounces) fresh or frozen cranberries|
|1||cup packed light brown sugar|
|1/2||cup white grape juice or apple cider|
|1/4||teaspoon ground allspice|
|1||large ripe pear, peeled, diced|
- Combine cranberries, brown sugar, grape juice and allspice in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently. Stir in pear; cook 3 minutes if pear is not ripe, 1 minute if pear is ripe. Remove from heat; cool completely. Cover; chill at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours before serving.
