Curried Beef Burgers


Makes 4 servings


1 pound 95% lean ground beef
1/4 cup mango chutney, chopped
1/4 cup grated apple
1-1/2 teaspoons curry powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 large red onion, sliced 1/4 inch thick
4 kaiser rolls or hamburger buns


  1. Preheat grill.
  2. Combine ground beef, chutney, apple, curry powder, salt and pepper in medium bowl; mix lightly. Shape into four patties.
  3. Grill over medium heat, covered, 8 to 10 minutes (or, uncovered, 13 to 15 minutes) to medium (160°F) or to desired doneness, turning once. Grill onions 5 minutes or until lightly charred, turning once. Serve with burgers.
