Deep South Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
2 1/2 | cup sugar |
1/2 | cup cocoa |
2 | sticks butter or margarine |
1/2 | tsp salt |
2 | eggs |
1 | cup buttermilk |
2 1/2 | cup flour |
1 | cup boiling water |
2 | tsp. soda |
1 | cup butter |
1 | cup shortening |
2 | T. Meringue powder |
2 | T. dairy creamer |
1/3 | cup hot water |
8 | cups confectioners' sugar |
1/2 | teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 | teaspoon butter emulsion |
2 | Tablespoon Orange Compound |
1 | cup butter |
1 | cup shortening |
2 | T. Meringue powder |
2 | T. dairy creamer |
1/3 | cup hot water |
8 | cups confectioners' sugar |
1/2 | teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 | teaspoon butter emulsion |
2 | Tablespoons Orange Icing Fruits |
Preparation
- Cream sugar and butter and eggs.
- Sift flour with cocoa and salt.
- Add alternately with buttermilk.
- Mix soda and water and add to above ingredients.
- Pour batter into three 8-inch cake pans.
- Bake at 300 degrees until done.
- Mix ingredients in the order listed until smooth and fluffy.
- Add more orange compound to taste.
- Mix ingredients in the order listed until smooth and fluffy.
- Add more orange icing fruit to taste.
