Deluxe Turkey Pita Melt


Makes 2 servings


1 whole wheat pita bread
2 ounces Brie or other soft cheese
2 ounces sliced smoked turkey
1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Shredded lettuce or alfalfa sprouts (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut pita around edge to make 2 flat pieces.
  2. Spread inside of each pita half with Brie. Top with turkey, tomato and basil.
  3. Place pita halves on baking sheet. Bake about 5 minutes or until cheese melts and topping is hot. Serve warm topped with shredded lettuce, if desired.
