Makes 6 to 8 servings


1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon minced garlic in olive oil
2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 (1-1/2- to 2-pound) beef flank steak


  1. Combine oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic and thyme in large resealable food bag. Add steak, turning to coat. Close bag; marinate in refrigerator 30 minutes to 3 hours.
  2. Preheat grill for direct cooking. Spray grid with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Remove meat from marinade; discard marinade. Grill steak over medium heat, uncovered, 17 to 21 minutes for medium rare to medium or until desired doneness, turning once. Remove steak from grill. Lightly cover with foil; let stand 15 minutes. Thinly slice steak across the grain.
