Fresh Homemade Salsa

Fresh Homemade Salsa

Recipe from Allison Fishman


2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
3 green onions, chopped
1/2 - 1 jalapeño, seeds removed, chopped (or more-some recipes call for as many as 5 jalapeños)
4 large fresh ripe tomatoes, chopped (6 Roma tomatoes can be used if you prefer less juice)
1/2 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 fresh bell pepper-any color, chopped (optional)
Tortilla chips


  1. In a shallow baking dish, add tomato slices and scallions, chopped into 1 ½ inch pieces, and chopped jalapenos.
  2. Place under a low broiler for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Put in a food processor and chop until you get the consistency you want.
