Good Morning Bread
Makes 1 (1-1/2-pound) loaf
|1||cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium)|
|3||tablespoons vegetable oil|
|2-1/4||cups bread flour|
|3/4||cup whole wheat flour|
|1/2||cup uncooked old-fashioned oats|
|1/4||cup nonfat dry milk powder|
|1||teaspoon grated orange peel (optional)|
|1||teaspoon ground cinnamon|
|2||teaspoons active dry yeast|
|3/4||cup chopped pitted dates|
- Measuring carefully, place all ingredients in bread machine pan in order specified by owner's manual.
- Program basic cycle and desired crust setting; press start. Immediately remove baked bread from pan; cool on wire rack. Serve with desired toppings.
This recipe produces a moist, slightly dense loaf that has a lower volume than other loaves. The banana flavor is more prominent when the bread is toasted.
