Makes 4 servings
|1||pound 93% lean ground turkey or 95% lean ground beef|
|3||tablespoons seasoned dry bread crumbs|
|1/4||teaspoon black pepper|
|Butter-flavored nonstick cooking spray|
|1/2||cup chopped onion|
|8||ounces sliced mushrooms|
|1/2||teaspoon dried thyme leaves|
|1||tablespoon all-purpose flour|
|1||cup fat-free reduced-sodium beef broth|
|2||tablespoons chopped fresh thyme or parsley (optional)|
- Combine turkey, bread crumbs, egg white, salt and pepper; mix well. Shape to form 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
- Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat; coat with cooking spray. Add patties; cook 5 minutes per side or until no longer pink in center. Remove from skillet; set aside.
- Coat same skillet with cooking spray. Add onion; cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add mushrooms and dried thyme; cook 3 minutes. Sprinkle flour over vegetables; cook and stir 30 seconds. Add broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer about 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender and sauce has thickened. Return patties to skillet; heat through.
- Serve patties with mushroom sauce and fresh thyme, if desired.
