Sinfully Simple Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
1 | package (18-1/4 ounces) chocolate cake mix plus ingredients to prepare mix |
1 | cup whipping cream, chilled |
1/3 | cup chocolate syrup |
Preparation
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions for two 8- or 9-inch layers. Cool completely.
- Beat whipping cream with electric mixer at high speed until it begins to thicken. Gradually add chocolate syrup; beat until soft peaks form.
- To assemble, place one cake layer on serving plate; spread with half of chocolate whipped cream. Place second cake layer on top; spread with remaining chocolate whipped cream. Garnish as desired. Store in refrigerator.
