Taco Pizza

Ingredients
1 | package (10 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough |
3/4 | pound 93% lean ground turkey |
1/2 | cup chopped onion |
1 | can (8 ounces) tomato sauce |
1 | envelope (1.25 ounces) reduced-sodium taco seasoning |
2 | medium plum tomatoes, thinly sliced, or 1 cup chopped tomato |
1 | cup (4 ounces) shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese |
1-1/2 | cups shredded lettuce |
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Lightly spray 12-inch pizza pan with nonstick cooking spray. Unroll pizza dough; press into prepared pan. Build up edges slightly. Prick dough with fork. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Meanwhile, lightly spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add turkey and onion; cook and stir until turkey is no longer pink. Add tomato sauce and taco seasoning to skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 2 to 3 minutes. Spoon turkey mixture on top of warm pizza crust. Bake 5 minutes.
- Arrange tomatoes on top of turkey mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 2 to 3 minutes more or until cheese melts. Top with lettuce. Cut into 8 pieces before serving.
