Taco Salad


Makes 4 servings


1 pound extra-lean (90% lean) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash black pepper
1 large head iceberg lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces (about 10 cups)
2 large tomatoes
1 medium avocado, peeled, sliced
2 cups salsa


  1. Brown ground beef in medium skillet. Drain. Add onion and garlic; cook until tender. Stir in seasonings.
  2. Combine lettuce, tomatoes and avocado in large serving bowl; toss lightly. Top with ground beef mixture. Serve with salsa.
