Tex-Mex Chicken Kabobs

Makes 4 servings
|3/4||cup barbecue sauce|
|2||tablespoons orange juice|
|2||teaspoons chili powder|
|1||pound chicken tenders|
|1||cup (1-inch) red bell pepper pieces|
|1||cup (1-inch) onion pieces|
|1||cup (1-inch) zucchini pieces|
- Preheat broiler. Combine barbecue sauce, molasses, juice and chili powder in small bowl; stir to blend. (Sauce mixture can be covered and refrigerated for up to 1 week before using, if desired.) Reserve 2/3 cup sauce mixture for serving.
- Weave chicken alternately with vegetables onto metal skewers. Broil or grill kabobs 15 to 18 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in center, brushing with remaining 1/3 cup sauce mixture and turning every few minutes. Do not baste during last 5 minutes of cooking. Discard any remaing basting sauce. Serve with reserved 2/3 cup sauce mixture.
Bottled barbecue sauces vary from sweet to tangy and from mild to spicy. Some also have a smoky flavor. For this recipe, choose a mild, tangy barbecue sauce.
