Turkey Sausage & Pasta Toss

Ingredients
8 | ounces uncooked penne or gemelli pasta |
1 | can (14-1/2 ounces) no-salt-added stewed tomatoes, undrained |
6 | ounces turkey kielbasa or smoked turkey sausage |
2 | cups (1-inch) fresh asparagus pieces or broccoli florets |
2 | tablespoons prepared reduced-fat pesto |
2 | tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese |
Preparation
- Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt.
- Meanwhile, heat tomatoes in medium saucepan. Cut sausage crosswise into 1/4-inch slices; add to tomatoes. Stir in asparagus and pesto; cover and simmer about 6 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender.
- Drain pasta; toss with tomato mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
