Zesty Barbecue Shrimp

Zesty Barbecue Shrimp


Makes 4 servings


2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
6 green onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium tomato, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup prepared barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 pound raw medium-size shrimp, shelled, deveined
Hot cooked rice


  1. Heat butter in large skillet until hot; add mushrooms, green onions and garlic and cook 1 to 2 minutes. Add tomato, barbecue sauce, hot pepper sauce and lemon juice; heat to boiling.
  2. Stir in shrimp. Simmer, uncovered, 4 to 5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink, stirring frequently. Serve over rice.
